WHO WE ARE
We support women in prison into meaningful employment in the fashion and creative industries.
How?
We sell beautiful lingerie. The profit we make is invested into training women inside prison. We then invest in advanced training and skills outside of prison. And we connect women with people and organisations in the fashion and creative industries to help them secure meaningful employment (such as work placements and apprenticeships).
Who is BehindBras?
We are a group of passionate people who care about what happens to women who leave prison. Our founder Barbara Burton inspired us to take a look at the grim statistics and devastating stories about women in prison and motivated us to help support her plan to give women more - not less - opportunities when they leave prison.
Support on the inside. Support on the outside.

WHAT WE DO
We work with women’s prisons and women’s centres; welfare providers; resettlement and mentoring charities; universities and experts in the fashion retail and creative industries to train women inside and outside prison to help them into employment and become self-sufficient.
FROM PRISON TO PAID EMPLOYMENT
Our programmes are designed to reduce the number of women who re-offend by helping them to improve their skills, confidence and employability. Through bespoke training and apprenticeship programmes we open doors into the creative industries.
We support women who want to find work in the fashion and creative industries as well as supporting women who want to set up their own business.
