STITCHING ACADEMY

Our training provider is Fashion Enter who owns the Fashion Technology Academy (FTA) in North London. The FTA is the first apparel manufacturing training academy in the country to operate alongside a live Factory and Fashion Studio ensuring that students gain exposure to real ‘Best of British’ manufacturing skills whilst training for their accredited qualifications. The FTA has been created to train a new generation of skilled workers to ensure that the UK apparel manufacturing sector continues to thrive.

Level 1 Award - 

STITCHING ACADEMY

Stitching Academy is a six-week course, where you can learn the fundamentals of using a variety of industrial sewing machines: how to set them up and use them safely, maintain the machines and identify the correct settings for the fabric.

 

Upon successfully completing the course, you can seek employment with your new found skills or you can progress onto the Stitching Academy Level 2 course or apply for an apprenticeship.

Level 2 Certificate- 

STITCHING ACADEMY

Stitching Academy Level 2 is a twelve week course which follows on from Level 1. From garment construction to handcraft tailoring techniques, this course will further develop your skills and knowledge.

 

Upon successfully completing the course, you can seek employment with your new found skills or apply for an apprenticeship.

APPRENTICESHIP

Apprenticeships provide the opportunity to do both these things by offering on the job training alongside study, enabling apprentices to gain a qualification and practical experience.

 

Employers provide a structured programme to help the apprentice develop their skills as they work. 

Duration:

6 weeks  -  Level 1

12 weeks -   Level 2

Tuition:

 Mon - Fri,    9am - 1pm   or 1pm - 5pm

Course Fees: 

Not Applicable*

*Fee remission is available to those unemployed, looking for work and receiving valid benefits, and not on a Work Programme.

We are able to hold courses at Fashion Textile Acedemy's premises in Hornsey, London N7 or for group workshop sessions at your premises.
